"Off and Running"

So, you've heard of Fall Outreach, right? Well, here at the Academy we did some Spring Outreaching. The first Monday back we held a student leader gathering. 25 of our students leaders came! We shared with them our ideas for a new way to do outreach, and how to get the word out about Bible Studies. The second night we held seeker studies. Seeker studies are for those who haven't been to a Bible Study. It is a large group study so not the same effect as a small group study but they get the idea. Our goal was to get the word out about Bible studies and to have the Student leaders take initiative and invite those who they see every day and know well.

Well it worked. By God's grace and commitment from our Student Leaders, it was a terrific success.

We had 30 new ladies come. Sara and I lead the study "The Courage to tell Jesus Everything." The guys had 50 come to their event. After the study we encouraged all those who were new to sign up for studies. What was really beautiful was to see so many of our student leaders "get it" they saw the importance of study in their lives and they wanted their friends and classmates to have the same chance/experience. Two student leaders after our seeker study night went around to their company and had 26 guys sign up for their study! 26!

The first day of school which was the same day we held our seeker study we had 70 people at Mass. Daily Mass...70 people. Unbelievable. Our goal is to have Mass so crowded that we have to have it in the main chapel at the Academy. Think big!

This weekend we are heading to Baltimore for our FOCUS Student Leader Summit. We are bringing 14 Student Leaders please pray for them and the other 3,000 students going to the summit. (I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes.) Learn more here.
